Executive Secretariat

The Executive Secretariat was created in Mai 1998 as a result of the mid-term Revue of the Programme and functions as an autonomous structure within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. It coordinates the entire Cameroon Biodiversity Conservation and Management Programme, which operates in a decentralised manner. Its pricipal tasks are:

• Maintain partnerships with all stakeholders in a mutually respectfull way and by free exchanges
• Maintain contact with other departments of MINEF, including with the highest hierarchy
• Maintain contact with the financing partners and executing agencies
• Organise concertation meetings
• Monitor and evaluate the field activities and financial administrations
• Establish and maintain the Information System on Biodiversity of Cameroon (SIBC)
• Diffuse information on the biodiversity conservation and management in Cameroon.
