Partners of the programmeThe GEF-Biodiversity Project was formulated in 1994 and it effectively started in 1996. After its mid-term review in 1998, the project changed in to a programme called “Cameroon Biodiversity Conservation and Management Programme”. The Programme received funding from nine funding bodies and partners, to a total of 21.5 million US$. They are: the Global Environment Facility (GEF), The Government of Japan, the German Co-operation (BMZ), the British Department for International Development (DFID) the French Co-operation (FAC), the Netherlands Co-operation (DGIS), two international NGOs, the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and finally, the Government of Cameroon (GoC). This Programme has been executed by eight Executing Agencies in partnership
with the Cameroon Ministry of the Environment and Forestry. They are:
Birdlife International, DFID, FAC, GTZ, Kew Botanic Gardens, SNV, Tropenbos
International and WWF.
