Operational structure
The Programme is made up of three national components and six priority
sites.
The national components are:
- The Executive Secretariat, based in Yaounde is charged with administrative
and financial co-ordination, as well as technical monitoring and evaluation
of the Programme.
- The Botanical component lodged within the National Herbarium of Cameroon
in Yaounde, is active throughout the country and is charged with botanical
inventories.
- The Zoological component was entrusted to IRAD for zoological research
at national level, but unfortunately it never took-off.
The field components or priority sites are:
- Mount Cameroon
- Mount Kupe
- Mount Kilum-Ijim
- Campo Ma’an
- South East
- Savanna Ecosystems.
